At Powers Products Co., we like to focus on the future. However, we wouldn't be where we are today if it weren't for the ambition of two entrepreneurial brothers over 60 years ago. Powers Builders' Supply was founded in 1940, about five years after Jim Powers and his brother Tom moved to Cheyenne, WY in search of work as bricklayers.
They quickly developed a strong reputation not only for their masonry skills but also as a source for high-quality building materials. Capitalizing on this success, in 1944, they built the first cinder-block manufacturing plant in the state and started a new company called Powers Brick and Tile.
Over the next 30 years, the two Companies firmly established themselves as the premier source for commercial building materials, concrete block, and related masonry products in Wyoming. In 1973, Mick Powers, Jim's son, took over as President of the Companies and expanded the scope of Powers Builders Supply into specialized architectural building products including skylights, operable walls, and synthetic rubber gym/track surfacing. He also expanded the Company's geographic coverage by entering the Colorado market in 1974.
Brent Powers became the President of the Company in 2001, representing the third generation of family management/ownership. In 2003, the company's block manufacturing division was sold to Robinson Brick Co., resulting in its exclusive focus today on the sale, installation, and service of various specialty architectural building products.
Today, the Company is incorporated under the name Powers Products Co. (d.b.a. - Powers). The corporate headquarters are located at 1003 E. Lincolnway Cheyenne, WY 82003, and the Colorado operation is located at 1455 S. Platte River Dr., Denver, CO 80223. With offices in both Denver and Cheyenne, we focus most of our efforts on the Colorado and Wyoming marketplaces, although we have completed work throughout the Western United States and are a licensed contractor in the State of California.
In today's commercial construction market, we recognize the increasing need for high-quality subcontractors. We believe that by providing turn-key, furnish and install solutions for commercial doors, frames, hardware and architectural specialty products, Powers is uniquely positioned to fit this bill. To accomplish this, we offer:
